Application Fee: To encourage early application, we will refund $50 of your application fee if you meet the following criteria: (1) you are a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident; (2) you have at least a 3.0 grade point average from your current or latest institution; and (3) you submit a complete application package by January 5, 2009 (refund checks will be mailed by March 15, 2009).
The university also grants full application fee waivers to certain U.S. citizens and permanent residents with strong financial need (For more information and instructions, go to: http://www.rgs.uci.edu/GRAD/prospective/fee_waivers.htm).

TOEFL/IELTS Scores: Only applicants whose primary language is not English are required to demonstrate proficiency in English for admission consideration. However, this requirement will be waived automatically for applicants who have received an advanced degree from an accredited U.S. college or university. Proficiency in English may be demonstrated by passing one of two standardized, internationally administered tests: TOEFL (the Test of English as a Foreign Language); or IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
